After 15 years the OMS® record for product safety and reliability continues to surpass all
others. NASA , World Class Record holders, deep explorers and those who simply demand
the best specify OMS® banded and non-banded BC’s.
Like all OMS® BC’s these new models incorporate features such as (4) slots located in the non-inflated section of the BC (except the TACOPS®). Cam bands can then be passed through the integral webbing on the back of the IQ™ pack, or through the CAM-BAND slots on the Stainless Steel or Aluminum Back plates, inserted into these BC slots and finally placed over the single cylinder…. making any OMS® Backplate/Harness/BC system(s) very light and travel friendly. For those preferring super stability, the ever-popular Stainless Steel Single cylinder adapter (optional) can be used with either the IQ™ or the Stainless Steel/Aluminum Backplate Harness Systems. FIRST LINE OF DEFENSE™: OMS® uses 1000 denier Cordura backed with 5.0 oz of Urethane to prevent abrasion and increase puncture resistance on all BC’s. Most competitors lose the First Line of Defense™ on their BC’s by using little or no urethane backing. This leaves their product susceptible to punctures and abrasion . Housed inside our Cordura cover is a virgin urethane bladder (2 bladders on the dual bladder BC). |

Elastomeric Retraction Band BC Features : 1. DUAL BLADDER: Inflator hoses and Dump valves are interchangeable for a variety of unique hose configurations. The dual bladder model features a total of four (4) pull dump valves located:
2. SINGLE BLADDER: The single bladder model has two (2) relief valves
located: divers' right shoulder and divers' lower left. 3. POWER DEFLATION / ORAL INFLATION: The unique elastomeric bands (use is optional) assist in deflation, but still allow the diver to orally inflate the BC. 4. ELIMINATION OF AIR SHIFT: The OMS® elastomeric bands evenly compress the BC, eliminating the massive airshift associated with non-banded BCs that typically occurs when changing body plane. 5. LOW DRAG / LOW SNAG: The OMS® bands typically retract the BC to a width less than the diver's shoulders greatly reducing Drag and Snag potential. 6. TRIM ADJUSTABILITY: By adding or eliminating bands in different parts of the BC, the diver can adjust: a) lateral trim to compensate for stage bottles, cameras, etc. b) Horizontal trim e.g. head up, down or level. |
